ZWB Glass Plate
- ZWB stands for uv glasses— a series of UV-transmitting black glass filters produced mainly in China. These filters are engineered to allow UV light (usually between 200–400 nm) to pass through, while absorbing visible light (400–700 nm) and infrared wavelengths.
When viewed by the eye, ZWB filters appear black or deep purple, but under UV light, they transmit ultraviolet radiation effectively.
- There are three grades: ZWB1, ZWB2, ZWB3 (254nm / 310nmn / 365nm)
How ZWB UV Filters Work
ZWB filters use optical absorption to block unwanted visible light while transmitting UV rays.
They are made from special doped glass that absorbs visible light frequencies, giving the filter its black appearance.
When UV light passes through, only the ultraviolet wavelengths emerge, improving the contrast and purity of the UV illumination.
For example:
1.In a UV flashlight, adding a ZWB2 filter can remove visible purple light, making fluorescence clearer and stronger.
2.In UV curing lamps, it ensures that only UV energy reaches the surface, improving curing efficiency.
Applications of ZWB UV Filters
1.UV Flashlights & Detection Lights
Enhance UV fluorescence detection for currency, minerals, or biological materials.
Filter out visible light for pure UV emission.
2.Medical & Sterilization Devices
Used in UVC disinfection lamps to ensure only germicidal wavelengths pass through.
3.Phototherapy & Dermatology Equipment
Controls the spectral range of UV exposure for therapeutic use.
4.UV Curing Systems
Improve polymerization precision by filtering unwanted wavelengths.
5.Scientific & Industrial Imaging
Used in fluorescence microscopy, optical instruments, and UV cameras.
